Copter Game!
A few years ago Mike Allen sent me a link over IM and told me something to the effect of “forget productivity for the rest of the day.” Man was he right. The simplicity and the playability of the copter game were amazing. I starting thinking about how the game was made. I even ran copter game through a flash decompiler of sorts to see how they did it. And it was simple. And awesome.
Then I moved on (a week later) but over the next few months I would find myself going back to play a little copter to break up the monotonousness of the day or I would receive a new screenshot of Mike’s latest score and I would have to play until I beat it. Eventually I smashed his highest score so thoroughly that he stopped challenging me. Kind of a sad day really.
But now a days I’ll chat with Mike and he’ll ask if I’ve played a good round of copter and we’ll both laugh a bit. And then I’ll go find my old files and play a few rounds. It’s still fun. But I doubt I’ll ever beat my old score of 4793.
